Day 1: Depart from UK
Day 2: Arrival in Beijing (D)
On arrival at Beijing Airport, meet your local tour manager and proceed to your
hotel. Your day is at leisure to explore the surroundings or to relax. In the evening enjoy an Indian dinner.
Day 3: Beijing city tour (B/L/D)
Today we visit Tiananmen Square which is known to be one of the largest public squares in the world, bordered by the Qianmen Gate, the Great Hall of the People and Theatre of Heavenly Peace. Later visit the Forbidden City to see the courtyards, palaces and pavilions. In the afternoon, continue to Lama Temple, which combines styles of Manchurian, Chinese, Tibetan, and Mongolian architecture. Everywhere you turn, expansive details and bold patterns can be found to tease and tantalize the senses.
Day 4: Beijing city tour (B/L/D)
In the morning visit the Jade Factory for shopping before departing for a tour of the Great Wall at Mutianyu Sect with cable car of China. This 6,400km long wall is a symbol of China’s ancient civilisation and ranks among the greatest ancient monuments in history. Later visit some of the modern sights that Beijing has to offer; view the iconic Olympic buildings, take photos with the National Aquatics Centre (Water Cube), and the National Stadium, known as the Bird’s Nest.
Day 5: Beijing city tour (B/L/D)
Today visit the Summer Palace which is a vast group of lakes, gardens and palaces in Beijing. The Summer Palace is mainly dominated by Longevity Hill and the Kunming Lake.
Later visit the Temple of Heaven, the place where the emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties
worshiped heaven and prayed for good harvests. Before lunch visit the Factory. Here you may purchase gifts; jeans, jackets, bags and souvenirs for families and friends. Also visit the Yashow Market also known as the “Yaxiu Market”. This evening enjoy a wonderful acrobatic show which promises to dazzle and entertain.
Day 6:Beijing -Xi'an (B/L/D) – (By High Speed Train)
Today check out and proceed to Xian via a super-fast train. On arrival visit the Wild Goose Pagoda which is a Buddhist pagoda, built in 652AD by the Tang Dynasty. Also visit the Bell Tower Square which is in the heart of this bustling city.
Day 7: X'an city tour (B/L/D)
Day 8: Xi'an/Chengdu (B/L/D) – (By High speed train)
Day 9: Chengdu (B/L/D)
Day 10: Chengdu – Chongqing- River Cruise (B/L/D) – (High speed train)
Day 11: Yangtze River Cruising/Shibao Pagoda (B/Chinese Lunch/ Chinese Dinner)
Day 12: Yangtze River Cruising/Shennv or Shennong Stream or Lesser Three Gorges (B/Chinese Lunch/Chinese Dinner)
Day 13: Yangtze River Cruising/The Three Gorges Dam Site-Yichang / Shanghai (B/D)
After breakfast on board the cruise, enjoy a shore excursion of the Three Gages Dam, the largest project of its kind in the world. The dam is 1,983 metres long and 185 meters high. Its construction involves the relocation of 13 cities, 140 towns and 1.3 million people and the enormity of the project is quite staggering. Later we sail to the port of Yichang, on arrival disembark and drive to the station for Train to Shanghai. Upon arrival in Shanghai, transfer to hotel.
